Former Gladesville Scout Master charged over sexual assault of boy

A former Scout Master has been charged over the alleged historic sexual assault of a boy at Gladesville.

It's alleged a 11-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by his Scout Master while on a camp at Glendenning Valley in 1993.

It's further alleged the boy was again assaulted at a scout hall in Gladesville later that year.

The incidents were reported to police last year and detectives from Ryde Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, a 53-year-old man was arrested at an address in Wellington about midday today (Thursday 30 July 2020).

The man was 26-years-old when the alleged assaults took place.

He was charged with two counts each of aggravated sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault, along with commit act of indecency. The man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Friday 31 July 2020).
