A former police officer has been charged with sexual offences following an investigation by Professional Standards Command.
In October 2019, an investigation commenced following reports a woman had been sexually assaulted by a man who was known to her.
About 9.45am today (Tuesday 19 May 2020), the 42-year-old man, who is a former senior constable attached to Southern Region, was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station.
He was charged with sexual assault and sexual touching.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at the Nowra Local Court on Monday 20 July 2020.
The man resigned in February this year.
