Four Charged in $10M Murray River Cannabis Bust

Four people have been charged after thousands of cannabis plants seized during a major police operation in the state's south yesterday.

About 9.15am (Wednesday 11 February 2026), officers attached to Murray River Police District, with assistance from Southern Region Enforcement Squad and State Crime Command executed a search warrant at a rural property in Neimur, about 80km north-west of Deniliquin

During a search of the property, police allegedly located and seized approximately 5000 cannabis plants with a potential value of $10 million dollars.

Four people were arrested at the property, and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where they were all charged with cultivate prohibited plant not less than the large commercial quantity and possess prohibited plant not less than the large commercial quantity.

They were all refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 later today (Thursday 12 February 2026).
