Fourth Person Charged After Mernda Death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a fourth person following the death of a man in Mernda on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called reports of a group fighting on Bridge Inn Road about 5.50pm on 6 March.

A 22-year-old Mernda man was located with life-threatening injuries and was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

Police arrested a 16-year-old, 18-year-old and two 17-year-olds in relation to the incident.

One of the 17-year-olds was transported to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives today charged the boy from the Yarra area with murder and armed robbery.

He will appear at a children's court at a later date.

An 18-year-old Mill Park man, 17-year-old from the Greater Geelong area and 16-year-old boy from the Whittlesea area were each previously charged with murder and armed robbery.
