Campaspe Shire Council's Flood Recovery Team, in partnership with Equipment Solutions Plus, will host a series of free community grant‑writing information sessions across the shire in March to support local recovery and strengthen community capacity.

Designed to educate and empower community members and organisations, the sessions will cover the essentials of successful grant-seeking and grant management — from identifying suitable funding opportunities to preparing strong applications, and completing acquittals and reporting.

Four sessions will be offered, each limited to 20 participants to ensure an engaging and interactive learning experience. A light supper or finger food will be provided.

Sessions are open to everyone and will be held at:

  • Echuca: Echuca Workers Club on Monday, 2 March, 6–8pm;
  • Kyabram: Kyabram Community Learning Centre on Tuesday, 3 March, 6–8pm;
  • Rochester: Rochester Uniting Church on Wednesday, 11 March, 6–8pm;
  • Echuca: Campaspe Shire Council Function Room on Thursday, 12 March, 6–8pm.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell, said the workshops were not only about learning how to secure funding but also about offering community members the skills to bring local ideas and projects to life.

"Grant‑writing workshops give our residents the skills to turn ideas into reality," Cr Mackrell said.

"Armed with the knowledge of how to access funding, they're better able to actively shape the future of their communities.

"I encourage community groups and businesses to take part, learn how to navigate the funding opportunities that are available to them, and gain the tools they need to drive local projects and deliver real change for their communities."

The workshops will be delivered by Equipment Solutions Plus, which brings more than 10 years of experience in local government across community engagement and development, project management, design, and grant writing. Their team has supported councils, sporting clubs, and not‑for‑profit organisations in sourcing and applying for grants.

Community members, volunteers, and local service providers are encouraged to attend and build valuable knowledge to support recovery efforts and long‑term community development.
