- Perth Zoo marks Mother's Day with free entry for mums
- Mothers won't have to purchase a ticket at the gate or online to visit on Sunday 11 May
- Many new arrivals to celebrate as a result of Perth Zoo's successful breeding programs
Perth Zoo will once again offer free entry to all mums this Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day.
Mothers will not be required to purchase a ticket at the gate or online, with the Zoo encouraging families to spend the day together.
Perth Zoo is home to more than 1,300 animals, including several native and exotic animal mothers and their young.
In the Amazonia habitat, the Zoo's newest arrival Miski, the baby Bolivian squirrel monkey, is keeping mum Reina busy with cheeky antics that delight visitors.
Visitors can look out for orangutan mum Sekara, while in the African savannah, giraffe Kitoto can be found with her daughter Zahara.
Zoo visitors may also catch a glimpse of tree kangaroo joey Muku, who was born to mother Kaluli in February last year. Muku is the fifth joey born at Perth Zoo, and her arrival marked a major milestone for the globally co-ordinated Goodfellow's tree kangaroo conservation program.
Behind-the-scenes, Perth Zoo's successful numbat breeding program has also welcomed 11 numbat joeys this season. Azari, Feodora, and first-time numbat mum Kaarla all have pouch young.
These endangered joeys will eventually go on to be released back into the wild through the Zoo's collaborative breed-for-release program.

"Perth Zoo is a fun day out for the whole family and this is a fantastic opportunity to make new memories while visiting the more than 1,300 animals that call the Zoo home.
"This free entry offer for Mother's Day is also a chance to highlight the important conservation work of the Zoo, including the great success of its breeding programs."
