Moira Shire Council is proud to take part in the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival, supporting the delivery of free and low-cost events for senior residents throughout October.
This October, seniors are encouraged to connect or reconnect with their interests, skills and hobbies, remain curious as they age, and celebrate positive ageing with their community.
Moira Shire Council and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing are supporting the seniors of Moira to host four community pop-up expos, showcasing all that the Senior Citizens Centres have to offer, as well as bringing together a range of local services, information and supports in Cobram, Yarrawonga, Nathalia and Numurkah.
Alongside the Senior Citizens Centres, attendees can meet with Local Health Services, Community Houses, MHA Care, GV Libraries, YMCA, Dementia Australia, FamilyCare, Primary Care Connect and many others.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM said the expos were a great opportunity for older residents to access information and support close to home.
"These pop-up expos bring together a wide range of health, wellbeing and community services in one place, making it easier for our senior residents to find the support they need," Dr Emonson said.
"Whether it's information about aged care, dementia support, library programs or staying active, there is something for everyone at these events.
"I'd encourage all senior residents, along with their families and carers, to come along, ask questions and connect with the many local organisations who will be there to help."
Community Pop-Up Expos
- Cobram: Thursday 1 October, 10am to 12pm, Cobram Senior Citizens Centre, 3 Hay Avenue, Cobram.
- Yarrawonga: Wednesday 7 October, 1pm to 3pm, Yarrawonga Senior Citizens Centre, 23 Hovell Street, Yarrawonga.
- Nathalia: Wednesday 14 October, 10am to 12pm, Nathalia Senior Citizens Centre, 9 Harcourt Street, Nathalia.
- Numurkah: Tuesday 20 October, 1pm to 3pm, Numurkah Senior Citizens Centre, 38 McCaskill Street, Numurkah.
All expos are free to attend and open to all senior residents, along with their families and carers, so come along to an expo near you.
