To recognise Gambling Harm Awareness Week (24 to 31 October), you're invited to a free online screening of Shaun Micallef's Going For Broke, a powerful ABC documentary exploring the impacts of gambling harm on individuals, families and communities.
Following the screening, a lived experience gambling reform advocate with the Alliance for Gambling Reform, will facilitate a panel discussion with gambling harm prevention experts, lived experience advocates and researchers.
Participants will gain practical insights into recognisng and reducing gambling-related harm and will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with panel members during a Q&A session.
The event aims to increase community awareness of gambling harm, encourage people to view gambling through a public health lens, and provide information and resources that can support prevention and early intervention efforts.
The event is being delivered in partnership with Maroondah City Council, Manningham Council and Kingston City Council.
