Free training opportunities for community groups

Local community groups interested in taking their work to the next level are encouraged to attend upcoming free training and development sessions.

Baw Baw Shire Council has partnered with specialist trainers 'Non Profit Training' to provide the professional training and development sessions.

Two free sessions are being offered in February 2020, with limited places available:


Budget planning

When: 6.00pm - 8.30pm on Tuesday 4 February 2020

Where: Drouin Civic Centre, 33 Young Street (access via Brynwood Ave)

The session will provide community group leaders with the confidence to be able to understand the fundamentals of budgeting. It will help them to formulate a budget for their projects/programs and use a budgeting tool to help them forward plan and manage their programs success.

Topics include:

  • Budgeting for programs/organisation
  • A rundown of a good budget process
  • Budgeting for grant applications
  • Numbers we know and guess
  • Reporting against the budget
