Free Water Safety And CPR Awareness: Bayside

Bayside Council is helping local children and families stay safe around water these July school holidays with a series of free 90-minute Water Safety and CPR Awareness sessions at the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre.

Designed for school-aged children and their families, this engaging school holiday program combines CPR awareness with practical water safety education to build confidence in and around water while teaching essential skills that could one day save a life.

Delivered by qualified aquatic professionals, the program aims to improve participants' confidence in aquatic environments, increase awareness of emergency response procedures and develop practical survival skills that encourage safer behaviours and help prevent drowning incidents.

Participants will learn:

  • CPR awareness and emergency response
  • Floating and survival techniques
  • Safe pool entries and exits
  • Water safety around pools, beaches and waterways
  • How to perform a safe reach rescue
  • The importance of wearing a correctly fitted lifejacket

The free sessions will be held from 12.30pm to 2.00pm on Tuesday 14 July, Wednesday 15 July and Thursday 16 July at the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, Bexley North.

Offering a fun, interactive and educational school holiday experience, the program encourages children to develop lifelong water safety skills while giving parents valuable knowledge to help keep their families safe.

Places are limited and registrations are essential.
