Essential maintenance works are being carried out at Fremantle Mausoleum. Sections will be closed between the first week of August 2025 and December 2025.
Following a recent assessment, significant roof repairs are required to address leaks.
These essential works will take place over 22 weeks, beginning in the first week of August 2025 and are expected to be completed by December 2025.
To ensure safety and access:
- The East Sanctuary will be closed from Wednesday 6 August to early October 2025.
- The West Sanctuary will then be closed from early October to mid-December 2025.
One side of the mausoleum will remain open at all times.
Please note:
- Interment services will continue throughout, with funeral directors ensuring respectful coordination.
- Access to the entrance display niches will mostly remain available, though may be restricted for 2-3 days during lighting upgrades.
- If you're planning a visit for a special occasion or anniversary, we encourage you to call ahead on 1300 793 109 or visit the administration office to confirm access is available.
