Fitness fanatics have even more reason to get moving, with the Fremantle Leisure Centre unveiling a bigger, brighter and better group fitness studio designed to help more people enjoy their favourite classes.
The newly expanded studio has officially reopened following an eight-week renovation, delivering a more flexible and comfortable space shaped by feedback from Fremantle Leisure Centre members.
The upgrade has almost doubled the size of the group fitness studio from 91.7 square metres to 178 square metres, allowing class sizes to increase from 18 participants to as many as 30 for most sessions.
The refreshed space also features new air conditioning and ventilation, upgraded flooring, a new sound system, a dedicated Flow Zone for functional training, new Les Mills equipment and an expanded timetable with additional Les Mills and functional fitness classes.
A dedicated stretching area outside the main gym also provides members with a safer, more comfortable place to warm up, cool down and focus on mobility.
Fremantle Mayor Ben Lawver said the investment reflected the City's commitment to supporting healthier, more active lifestyles.
"Whether you're an early morning Pilates regular, a lunchtime high-intensity interval enthusiast or someone who's been thinking about giving group fitness a go, there's never been a better time to head to the Fremantle Leisure Centre," Mayor Lawver said.
"We listened to what our members wanted and created a space that's bigger, more comfortable and more versatile. It means more people can join each class, enjoy new equipment and experience an even better atmosphere."
Mayor Lawver said the improvements would help meet growing demand while giving members greater flexibility.
"The new studio isn't just about adding more space-it's about creating a welcoming environment where people of all fitness levels can feel motivated, supported and have a bit of fun while they're at it."
The upgraded studio is now open, with classes running daily. View the timetable at Fremantle Leisure Centre.
