Fugitive Squad detectives yesterday arrested a man wanted in New South Wales after he allegedly assaulted a police officer before fleeing custody earlier this year.
With the assistance of the Special Operations Group, the 27-year-old NSW man was arrested at a property in Robinvale about 10.30am yesterday morning.
His arrest follows an incident on Friday, 25 March, where he allegedly assaulted a female sergeant while in custody at Griffith Police Station, before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Detectives from NSW Strike Force Cobra arrived in Mildura yesterday to apply for his extradition.
He was remanded to appear at Wentworth Local Court today.
