Funding Ensures Continuity Of Pinjarra CRC Services

  • Pinjarra Community Resource Centre (CRC) to continue offering a broad range of government and community services thanks to Cook Labor Government funding
  • Shire of Murray to deliver CRC services under an interim arrangement from 1 July

The Pinjarra community will continue to have access to vital Community Resource Centre (CRC) services under an interim funding arrangement by the Cook Labor Government.

A $116,000 grant is being awarded to the Shire of Murray to continue Pinjarra CRC services in the 2026-27 financial year, following the announced upcoming closure of the Murray House Resource Centre.

The arrangement will ensure the Pinjarra CRC continues to offer a broad range of government and community services, including education, employment, training and business support, as well as video conferencing, internet access, and opportunities to promote local events, community groups, and digital inclusion initiatives.

CRCs serve as central, accessible hubs where local residents, businesses, and visitors can obtain key information on government and other essential services.

The Cook Labor Government provides support to more than 100 CRCs operating across rural, remote, and regional Western Australia.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will work closely with the Shire of Murray to ensure a smooth transition of CRC services, including training and induction, ahead of operations commencing on 1 July 2026.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Stephen Dawson:

"Community Resource Centres support our regional communities and help connect the people of Western Australia. They provide training and education programs, access to business facilities, and information on community events and government services.

"The Cook Labor Government has worked quickly with the Shire of Murray to ensure that key services can continue to be delivered during this period of change.

"I commend the Shire of Murray for its commitment to supporting the local community and stepping forward.

"I would also like to acknowledge the Murray House Resource Centre for its dedicated service to the Pinjarra community since 2010."

As stated by Katrina Stratton MLC:

"Having spent a career in community services, I have a deep appreciation of the role of Community Resource Centres.

"I'm pleased to see a swift resolution in Pinjarra which will ensure the ongoing delivery of services to the local community."
