Police have arrested two men after two police officers were struck by a vehicle in Lucas yesterday.
Police spotted an allegedly stolen black utility stationary in a carwash on the corner of Dyson Drive and Ballarat-Carngham Road about 10am on 29 June.
An attempt was made to arrest the occupants of the vehicle before the utility allegedly drove forward and crashed into a tow truck.
It is alleged the ute reversed at speed and struck the two police officers.
Both officers were injured, one of them was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A short time later the occupants of the utility were allegedly seen dumping the vehicle and getting into a red Holden Commodore on Wattle Avenue in Wendouree.
The Holden then collided with a pole nearby and the occupants dumped that vehicle.
A woman, alleged to have been a passenger in both the utility and Holden, was spotted fleeing the scene and jumping fences.
Officers engaged in a foot pursuit and arrested the 19-year-old Alfredton woman.
She has been charged with numerous offences including conduct endangering life, aggravated offence of intentionally expose emergency worker to risk by driving.
She has been bailed to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on 16 September.
Two men were arrested just after midday today at a service station on Western Highway in Ballan.
A 30-year-old Ballarat man, alleged to be the driver of both vehicles, has been charged with:
reckless conduct endangering life
reckless conduct endangering serious injury
aggravated intentional exposure of a police officer to risk by driving (x2)
dangerous driving while pursued by police
failure to stop on police direction
handling stolen goods (x2)
driving while disqualified (x2)
assault police (x6)
possess cannabis
He has been remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
A 26-year-old Napoleons man was arrested in relation to unrelated matters.
