Further charges by Strike Force Seasoned investigators

A man will appear in court today charged as investigations into an unauthorised protest in Sydney continue by detectives from Strike Force Seasoned.

Following inquiries, including appeals for public assistance, police arrested a 39-year-old man at a home on Watergum Way at Woonona, about 3.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 10 August 2021) and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

A search warrant was executed at a home in Coledale, where police seized clothing relevant to the investigation.

The man was charged with, riot, assault police, two counts of throw missile at police officer at public disorder and not comply with notice of direction.

Police will allege in court the man participated in the unauthorised protest in Sydney CBD on Saturday 24 July 2021, during which he threw horse manure and a pot plant, hitting a mounted police officer and her horse.

He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Wednesday 11 August 2021).
