Officers from the Crime and Intelligence Command's Drug and Serious Crime Group have charged an Ashgrove man as a result of ongoing investigations following joint law enforcement Operation Ironside.
Officers from the Drug and Serious Crime Group arrested the 36-year-old man yesterday for his alleged role in a criminal syndicate trafficking drugs and firearms throughout Queensland.
It will be alleged the man was a user of an encrypted communication platform being covertly run by law enforcement under AFP-led Operation Ironside.
The arrest follows tactical action and intelligence gathered through Operation Ironside Shropshire.
As part of this operation, search warrants were executed across multiple properties last month including Ashgrove, Mermaid Waters and Mount Mee.
The man was charged with eight offences including three counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count each of unlawful trafficking in weapons, trafficking in dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being proceeds of an offence and possessing anything used in the commission of crime.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today. Investigations remain ongoing.
