Further two charged after Docklands fatal stabbing

Crime Command detectives have charged two further men as part of the Homicide Squad investigation into a fatal stabbing at Docklands last weekend.

A 22-year-old Taylors Hill man has been charged with violent disorder, affray and commit indictable offence while on bail.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A 20-year-old Epping man was charged with violent disorder and affray.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Three other men - a 19-year-old from Derrimut, 21-year-old from Wollert and 21-year-old from Tarneit - were charged yesterday in relation to the incident.

The Tarneit and Derrimut men were charged with murder, while the Wollert man was charged with affray and violent disorder.

All three faced Melbourne Magistrates' Court last night and were remanded in custody.

The charges follow an incident on Sunday, 13 March in Docklands where 23-year-old Western Australian man Alier Riak was fatally stabbed.

His 26-year-old brother Kuol Riak was also seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to Bourke Street, near Harbour Esplanade, following reports of a brawl between a number of males about 3.20am that morning.

On arrival, the two injured men were located and conveyed to hospital however Alier passed away a short time later.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has other information and is yet to speak to police to come forward.
