Further two people charged over fire in Bayswater

Arson Squad detectives have charged an addition two people in relation to their investigation into a fire at a business in River Road in Bayswater that occurred on Sunday, 4 April 2021.

It is alleged around 2.55am, the man and woman in company with a man already charged, used a stolen vehicle to force entry into the commercial property.

It is further alleged they broke windows of the front office of the warehouse and using an accelerant set fire to the warehouse and vehicles.

The fire damaged multiple vehicles and the front of the business causing an estimated $2,500,000 damage.

A 28-year-old man from Kingsley and a 24-year-old woman from Stake Hill have been charged with :-

• Two counts of Criminal Damage by Fire;

• One count of Aggravated Burglary and Commit; and

The man was also charged with Stealing of a Motor Vehicle. They will both appear in court this month.
