Bayside Council's Gardens for Wildlife program is helping residents transform their backyards into vibrant havens for native plants and wildlife.
With expert support from dedicated Bayside Garden Guides, residents can discover how their garden, no matter the size or location, can become a welcoming refuge for birds, insects and some of our region's threatened species. The program provides personalised advice to help you design a wildlife-friendly garden that supports biodiversity while thriving in Bayside's unique environment.
Bayside Garden Guides will provide a simple garden map for your garden including habitat ideas tailored to your space, recommended native plant species and information on where to buy plants.
Bayside residents who register for the program are eligible for two free native plants from IndigiGrow Nursery in La Perouse.
These plants are from the endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub (ESBS) plant community and are ideally suited to growing in the Bayside area.
