Gayview Park playground works set to begin

Works will begin on the playground at Gayview Park following feedback from the community on what should be included in the upgrade.

In April, residents had their say on the phone, via email and in person at an after-school pop up at the park.

Some of the items that were requested for the playground upgrade included a water bubbler; easier steps for toddlers and small children; a spinner; and, a connecting and learn-to-ride path.

In response, the council has included the following elements in the final design.

  • Solid steps for easier access for toddlers and small children
  • Inclusion of a spinner
  • Connecting pathway to the playground to provide access and a small learn-to-ride loop
  • A shade sail over the playground
  • A water bubbler with dog bowl

The equipment has been ordered and works to upgrade the playground are due to start in mid-August.
