Knox City Council is inviting residents to take a simple, affordable step toward responsible pet ownership at our Snip and Chip Your Cat Day on Wednesday 9 December at Knox Community Arts Centre in Bayswater.
For just $75, owners can have their cats desexed and microchipped, while Council staff will be onsite to provide free registration to all participants.
This initiative is delivered in partnership with The Vet Project, who operate a mobile desexing van providing high-quality care for pets.
It also supports Council's Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2029, which aims to increase pet registration and identification and help create a safer, more responsible community for pets and their owners.
No concession card is required but participants must live in Knox.
Places are strictly limited to 20 cats, with a cap of two cats per household, so early bookings are essential.
Cat owners can also add a standard F3 vaccination for $45 and a flea, worm and tick treatment providing three months' protection for $40.
