The Crisafulli Government is celebrating the State's youngest residents and their families by holding G'day Little Queenslanders events in the first of four regional areas over the coming weeks.

This heartwarming, free-event program is all about showering love on Queensland's new babies and their families, bringing communities together, and making sure parents have access to government resources and local services.

The first of four fun-filled events are being held on weekends across the State from today with the inaugural event taking place at The Mill Parklands at Petrie.

With a strong grassroots focus, the outdoors event will also visit Townsville, Redlands and Cairns, providing a valuable community engagement for families with children aged 0-2 years.

The program will feature family-friendly activities, including roving live children's entertainment, stage shows showcasing local talent, and information stalls from local health and family services.

Families who register to attend will also receive a certificate on the day to welcome their Little Queenslanders.

There will be food and beverage trucks and stalls, and relaxing spaces for families to enjoy.

Premier David Crisafulli said the initiative was an important way of celebrating the State's youngest members and fostering a sense of belonging for their families.

"These events will be loads of fun for our littlest Queenslanders, and a great way of strengthening communities all over our State," the Premier said.

"There's no greater responsibility than being a parent and it's important we let new families know what local and government services are available in their area.

"I'm confident that next year we will see more G'day Little Queenslanders events across the rest of our regions for more young families in those communities."

The inaugural event at Petrie is taking place at the end of Children's Week, annually held in late-October, which celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood.
