Geelong boat fire

Detectives from the Geelong Crime Investigation Unit continue to probe the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire in Geelong.

Investigators believe an offender attended a business in Woods Street, South Geelong about 11pm on Friday evening.

Once on the premises the offender used flammable liquid from a jerry can to set fire to a boat which was stored outside the main shed of the business.

The boat, worth approximately $50,000, was destroyed in the blaze.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Woods Street on Friday evening or who man have seen someone with a jerry can.
