A woman from St Albans Park woke up to the news that she had become the newest millionaire after winning the Wednesday Lotto draw top prize. The Geelong resident clinched the sole division one winning ticket in draw 4327 held on 4 October 2023, earning her a cool $1 million prize.
“You’re kidding me?!” she exclaimed in disbelief when contacted by lotto officials.
“I’m speechless, I don’t know what to say. When I saw the call, I thought ‘that’s a scammer’. You hear about these wins, but you never think it’ll be you! I play every week...".
Detailing her strategy, she shared, she only "ever do the minimum number of entries which is four games. For the first line, I use birthday numbers, then I choose random for the rest.”
The joy of the win was palpable as the winner got emotional thinking about what the prize money meant for her.
“I can’t stop smiling and laughing. Now I’m getting emotional,” she said with tears in her eyes.
“Now I can feel confident retiring and I’ll be able to take myself on a holiday.”
The fortunate ticket, a 4-game marked entry, was secured online.
The winning combination for the draw was 15, 1, 13, 7, 18, and 4, accompanied by supplementary numbers 33 and 19. The sole division one winning ticket for the draw was from Victoria.
