- More than 75 businesses honoured at 2025 Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards
- Event recognises significant contributions to State's emergency services
A diverse list of employers across Western Australia have been honoured for the vital support they provide to emergency service volunteers.
Every year, the Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards (VERA) acknowledge businesses who free their staff to respond to emergencies during work hours.
VERA also acknowledges the self-employed volunteers who sacrifice business opportunities without hesitation to attend incidents.
A total of 78 businesses, organisations, and self-employed volunteers from Kununurra to Albany were lauded during the 2025 VERA ceremony at Perth's ANZAC Club last night.
Previously distinguished Central Park Tower in Perth's CBD will receive their fifth VERA award after supporting the Kalamunda and Pickering Brook Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for more than 17 years.
Now in its 17th year, the annual event is hosted by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
Comments attributed to Emergency Services Minister Paul Papalia:
"VERA celebrates and acknowledges employers who go above and beyond to enable their staff to respond to emergencies during work hours.
"The Cook Government recognises the employers and organisations who strive to generously contribute to our State's successful emergency services.
"On behalf of all Western Australians, I thank our dedicated volunteers who donate their time playing a key role in keeping our communities safe."
