Georges River Council hosted its sixth annual Eurovision Live Broadcast Party at Hurstville's Marana Auditorium on Sunday 18 May 2025.
In what is Australia's largest Eurovision Live Broadcast Party, nearly 500 Eurovision devoted fans came together at 5.00am to witness JJ from Austria take out an astonishing Grand Final win. The event was a spectacular celebration of music, culture and community, proving to be a dazzling tribute to the global spirit of the Eurovision Song Contest.
With this year's final held in Basel, Switzerland, the Marana Auditorium was transformed into a Swiss winter wonderland, with Swiss-themed decor and a walk-in snow globe to immerse guests in a magical, alpine-inspired experience.
Attendees were also treated to Swiss-inspired treats with a mouth-watering variety of food options available such as Bircher muesli, potato rösti, Swiss cheese, and chocolate Lindt balls.
MC Jayden Rodrigues kept the energy high throughout the morning, leading the crowd through dance breaks and awarding prizes to the best dressed — a tough call given the incredible effort so many attendees made to represent their favourite Eurovision stars, songs, and countries.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "The success of our Eurovision Live Broadcast Party is a true reflection of the vibrant and diverse community we have here in Georges River.
"It was incredible to see so many people come together to celebrate music, culture, and unity in such a joyful and inclusive way.
"Events like our Eurovision Live Broadcast Party highlight the power of diversity in bringing our community closer, and we are proud to create opportunities that foster connection and shared experiences.
"This is a destination event that brings visitors to our region every year and highlights the Georges River area."
