Georges River Sports Amenities, Lighting Input Sought

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is inviting the community to participate in the Sports Grounds Amenities and Lighting Survey.

The survey welcomes feedback from everyone who use our parks and sporting fields within the local government area. This includes players, families, volunteers, passive park users, spectators, local residents, and casual visitors.

Questions focus on how sport amenities like canteens, change rooms, and storage areas are shared. This feedback will help Council understand what works well and what needs improvement. It will guide how sports clubs and other hirers share facilities.

The survey also asks about sports lighting. In recent years, Council has reviewed sport lighting needs and completed a sports lighting audit. Council has worked with sports clubs through the Sports Advisory Committee to identify priority upgrades. Community feedback will be considered alongside existing data to determine the schedule of works to be implemented over the coming years.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said whether you play sport, watch from the sidelines, or live near a field, your experience matters.

"More people are playing, training and spending time in our parks, and we want to make sure our facilities keep up with community needs."

"We know lighting quality and access to amenities have been long‑standing concerns for clubs and community groups," Mayor Borg said.

The Sports Grounds Amenities and Lighting Survey closes 20 April 2026. The survey can be completed online or return a hard copy submission.
