Getting ready for Term 4 with Kindergarten

Greater Shepparton City Council reminds families that Term 4 of Kindergarten begins on the 7 October 2020. Council's centres are open, COVIDSafe and are ready to welcome back children with open arms.

Over the last few months there has been a drop in the number of children attending Kindergarten, due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Greater Shepparton City Council Director Community, Kaye Thomson says it's important for children to continue attending Kindergarten to gain necessary skills to prepare them for their first year of school.

"Parents and guardians can rest assured that all of our Council-run Kindergartens are COVIDSafe spaces. We are taking all the necessary precautions at all centres to ensure each child's safety and wellbeing," says Ms Thomson.

"Kinder is such a critical year in starting to prepare children for the structure and what they can expect when heading off to school. Children who attend kinder often are more independent and confident and have a smoother transition to primary school, so we hope to see many of our young ones return to Kinder in term 4."

If you have any questions before Term 4 begins, please contact Council on 03 5832 9700 or contact the centre directly.
