Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre Construction ramps up

Construction activity at the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre is beginning to ramp up with over 300 pre cast concrete piles beginning to be driven into the ground to support the new swimming pools and the large structure of the building.

This is a milestone for the project that will create the foundations for the highly anticipated community asset. During this period the large piling rig will make some noise as it hammers the piles into the ground. Latrobe City Council apologises for any inconvenience.

To help celebrate this milestone, ADCO the principal contractor for the Gippsland Aquatic Centre have installed 12 art boards near the entrance to the Kay St preschool which neighbours the construction site.

The boards feature students' artwork from St. Michaels Primary School and Kay Street Preschool. The vibrant and colourful artwork creates a lively entrance to the Kay Street preschool.

The Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre remains on schedule and is estimated to be opened to the public in early 2021.
