The safety fences are up in the Glen Waverley library forecourt area, and we're starting work to prepare for our exciting Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Project.
Construction of an electrical substation enclosure and relocation of the Council back-up generator is now underway.
The new substation, located close to the pedestrian entrance of Century City Walk, will support a reliable power supply for businesses and buildings in the Kingsway precinct.
You'll still be able to enter businesses from Kingsway, with no changes to footpaths or parking along the busy street, while our Glen Waverley library and civic centre will remain open from all entrances, with some safety measures and fencing in place.
Access to Century City, from the forecourt entrance, will be limited but emergency exits retained.
The library forecourt, including some of the tables and chairs, umbrellas and raised garden beds, will be out of bounds for the duration of the works - which are expected to be completed in July.
The construction company, FIMMA Constructions, and Council will be in regular contact with businesses nearby, to coordinate delivery times and to avoid disruptions
