World-renowned interactive public art installation, Sky Castle by ENESS, is a spectacular new addition to the 2022 Dubbo DREAM Festival; thanks to funding from the NSW Government as part of the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program.
The Sky Castle installation has been glowing from the Heritage Plaza in front of the Old Dubbo Gaol since Friday 23 September and has already been visited by thousands of people.
"The Sky Castle installation is an incredible addition to this year's DREAM Festival and something our region hasn't seen before. Since the Sky Castle installation has been in-situ, we have seen approximately 24,000 people come and enjoy the experience. It's great to be able to partner with the NSW Government and local businesses to deliver these sorts of events and activities for our community," said Dubbo Regional Council (DRC)'s CEO Murray Wood.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said it was great to partner with council, Kintyre Heights and NextGen Civil to bring the world-renowned installation to Dubbo.
"It's great to see Dubbo CBD 'come to light' these school holidays," Mr Saunders said.
"Sky Castle is an incredible spectacle for people of all ages and I'd encourage everyone to come and experience this wonderful interactive installation!"
The colourful installation will be accessible twenty-four hours and day, seven days a week, free of charge to the public from Friday 23 September to Sunday 9 October inclusive, at the Heritage Plaza in front of the Old Dubbo Gaol before it moves to Victoria Park to join the Dubbo DREAM Festival event program from Thursday 13 to Sunday 23 October.
Dubbo Regional Council Manager Regional Events, Kim Hague, is excited that Sky Castle by ENESS has been so popular with the community and visitors. "We have received countless positive feedback from the community who have already experienced the installation, so I encourage everyone to bring their friends and family along to see the incredible display of light, form and sound." said Ms Hague. "Whilst the interactive temporary art installation is live twenty-four hours a day, the most popular time for the installation is between 5pm and 8pm as the sun sets and the arches show their true colours. It's a picture perfect event for photos with friends and family." said Ms Hague
