Going armed charges in Kelvin Grove, QLD

Police have charged a man after he allegedly threatened an 18-year-old man with a knife in Kelvin Grove overnight.

At 12.45am a man was walking through McCaskie Park when he was approached by a man he did not know. It will be alleged the man threatened him with a knife and the 18-year-old man ran from the other man and phoned police once he got home.

It will be further alleged at 12.55am in Musk Ave the same man was standing in the middle of the road holding a knife. A car with three people stopped in front of the man and has he approached the car they drove away.

Police located and arrested a man with a knife in Musk Avenue shortly after.

A 23-year-old South Brisbane man has been charged with one count of going armed so as to cause fear and common assault. He will appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, February 4.
