The Palaszczuk Government has provided more than $2.6 million this year to help Gold Coast seniors and people with disability to stay in their homes by making them more accessible.
The Home Assist Secure program provides free information and referrals for people as well as subsidies for eligible in home maintenance and minor modifications for people aged over 60 and people with disability.
Eligible households can receive home maintenance and minor modifications of $500 per year.
Since it was established in 1993, the Home Assist Secure Program has supported hundreds of thousands of Queensland households.
On the Gold Coast, the program is delivered by three providers including Churches of Christ in Queensland, St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, and the Corporation of the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane (through Centacare).
