The Palaszczuk Government has today tabled its response into a report on the activities of Queensland's Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).
This report was delivered by the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee's (PCCC) in June and should not be confused with the Committee's most recent report.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Shannon Fentiman said the PCCC's report into the CCC, handed down in June, had made 30 recommendations, including in relation to the structure and oversight of the CCC and the performance of its functions and exercise of its powers.
"The Palaszczuk Government has carefully considered the PCCC's recommendations and consulted across all Government departments in preparing its response," Ms Fentiman said.
"Our response supports in full or in-principle 20 of the 22 recommendations which are addressed to Government.
"It also includes our commitment to considering recommendations made by the PCCC in its recent report on the inquiry into the CCC's investigation of former councillors of Logan City Council.
"The eight remaining recommendations which are addressed to either the PCCC or the CCC are also noted."
Minister Fentiman said the report is part of PCCC's statutory duty to monitor the performance of the CCC, with a report reviewing the CCC's activities tabled in parliament every five years.
"I want to thank the members of the PCCC for their work in preparing this report and the recommendations they have made," she said.
