Government Slow to Negotiate with ANMF

Tas Labor

The Rockliff minority Government's delay in reaching a new pay agreement with the ANMF is further evidence the Liberals are happy to take our nurses for granted.

Our dedicated nurses are the backbone of our health system, and without their hard work, our health system would completely disintegrate.

Tasmanian nurses aren't asking for the world, they are just asking to be treated fairly.

Unfortunately, after 10 years of a Liberal Government, nurses feel like they are being taken for granted, with nowhere near enough being done to meet their concerns about vacancies and overtime driven by fatigue and burnout.

Our dedicated nurses and midwives don't threaten to take industrial action unless they are pushed to breaking point and, unfortunately, that is where we are now at because the Liberal Government refuses to recognise their frustration and give them the support they need and deserve.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff has consistently failed to demonstrate he has a plan to address issues in Tasmania's health workforce, so after nearly a decade there's no reason for Tasmanians to think he'll start doing anything about it now.
