In March and April 2026, we spoke to the community about the proposed Concept Plan for the redesign of the Hamilton Place car park in Mount Waverley.
The proposed changes are designed to improve traffic flow, ease congestion and avoid driver confusion as well as increase pedestrian safety.
After considering the community's submissions and feedback at its August 2026 meeting, Council adopted the proposed Concept Plan with the inclusion of two changes.
In response to community feedback, we'll be implementing the option to retain and modify the exit next to the Commonwealth Bank as a left-only exit to Hamilton Place.
The second change is to expand the existing public space adjacent to Hamilton Walk to allow more footpath trading and outdoor seating, making Hamilton Place a more attractive place to visit. This change will mean the removal of 9 car parking spots.
Council will now progress the draft Concept Plan to the detailed design phase. We'll share the final design with you once completed. Construction will be subject to future funding.
