Grants Aid Heritage Building Conservation

Orange Council

Orange City Council invites owners of heritage buildings to apply for small grants from the Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2026/2027.

The aim of the fund is to support owners of heritage buildings in the Orange local government area to conserve and maintain heritage aspects of their properties.

The Local Heritage Assistance Fund is a joint program of Orange City Council and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.

Projects should involve the repair, conservation or re-instatement of missing items on heritage buildings. This may include fences, verandas and decorative detail.

Orange City Council's Heritage Community Committee Chair, Cr Gerald Power encouraged anyone restoring a heritage building to apply for a grant.

"Orange has so many beautiful heritage buildings. We want to encourage as much positive work on heritage items in the area as possible and hope it inspires other building owners to do the same," Cr Power said.

Examples of previous projects that have received grant funding include replacement of wrought iron fence panels at the Crown Hotel, a new corrugated iron roof at 101 Burrendong Way and work on the barn and bluestone at Bloomfield House.
