Grants pave way for events to connect community

Northern Beaches

From a BMX State Series, to a Manly Warringah Women's Football Association mini-World Cup, to a Scottish Festival of Tartan and a Late Nights Music Festival, Council's Event Grants and Sponsorship Program has announced its successful 2022/2023 first round funding recipients.

Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan said the highly diverse list covers the cultural spectrum, with each event chosen for its effort to enrich life on the Northern Beaches.

"Community-wide events bring people from all walks of life together, strengthening the bonds between them. Each recipient has been acknowledged as having the goal to support businesses and community with ideas and events specifically designed for local residents and visitors.

"Of the 23 groups that were awarded, a total of $52,500 in funding and up to $15,000 in fee waivers is being allocated to make it easier for them to achieve their goals.

"It's an incredible mix that is testimony to breadth of cultural and community pursuits that exist on the Beaches, congratulations to all the successful recipients." Mayor Regan said.
