Grievous bodily harm charges, Bellbird Park

A man has been charged after he allegedly fired a number of shots at another man in Bellbird Park last night.

At 9.50pm, police were called to a Woods Court address following reports of multiple gun shots.

Police will allege two men, not known to each other, were engaged in a verbal argument, through neighbouring properties.

During the altercation, a 24-year-old Bellbird Park man shot at a 39-year-old Bellbird Park man, causing minor injuries to his arm.

The 24-year-old man left prior to police arrival and drove to David Street at North Booval.

Around 11.50pm police arrived at the David Street address and the man left in a vehicle and drove to Gledson Street, where a successful tyre deflation device was used. The man was taken into custody without further incident.

A 24-year-old Bellbird Park man has been charged with possession of a shortened firearm and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He is expected to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court later today (March 31).

The 39-year-old Bellbird man was transported to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries and released a short time later.

Investigations are continuing.
