Griffith rises in CWTS Leiden Rankings

Griffith University has once again been placed among the world's top 300 universities in the 2019 CWTS Leiden Rankings.

Griffith has risen 36 places to 264 and retains its position as second in Queensland in the global ranking, which measure university performance based on scientific impact and collaboration across almost 1000 universities.

Griffith University Vice Chancellor Professor Carolyn Evans said she was delighted by the result which confirms Griffith's reputation as a leading research university.

"This is an outstanding result and I congratulate our staff on the quality of their research and its impact in addressing some of the most pressing problems confronting society."

The CWTS Leiden Ranking 2019 ranks impact and collaboration according to the size of research publication output of all sciences for the period from 2014 to 2017.

The global ranking is based on data from Web of Science, compiled by Clarivate Analytics.
