North Shelley Boardriders' Alanni Morris, Palm Beach's Max Goold and Byron Bay Boardriders' Hugo Spierings have claimed back-to-back wins at the Surf Reflections Junior Series on the New South Wales Mid North Coast this weekend.

Former World Surf League pro surfer Trent Munro and Newcastle pro surfer Jacko Baker were on hand at Hungry Head beach to mentor the 82 young competitors from NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.

The 2026 Surf Reflections Junior Series is a 5500-rated event on Surfing Australia's National Series calendar and is held by Reflections Holidays, the largest holiday park group in NSW, and iconic surfing festival Surfest.

The 2026 Series opened in February at Bonny Hills, where Alanni Morris and Max Goold claimed wins in their Under 14s category.

Morris and Goold backed up their wins in the same category at Hungry Head, with Lilli Pilli's Pearl Eaton claiming the Under 16 girls category and Byron Bay Boardriders' Hugo Spiering winning the Under 16 boys again after triumphing in Bonny Hills in February.

The Surf Reflections Junior Series (Urunga) category winners are:

U14s girls: Alanni Morris (1), Ella Campbell (2), Coco Woolley (3), Shelby O'Rourke (4)

U14s boys: Max Goold (1), Bede Cant (2), Mack Ringis (3), Beau Hall (4)

U16s girls: Pearl Eaton (1) Ella Campbell (2), Lily Sein (3), Isla Schomberg (4),

U16s boys: Hugo Spierings (1), Jonny Tooth (2), Zeke Woolam (3), Sandon Vowels (4)

Alanni Morris said it was "so good" to back up from her Bonny Hills win and claim her Under 14s category: "It was a little bit hard getting a wave at times, but you just had to get on the right one," she said.

Surfest director Warren Smith said the young competitors were treated to near perfect conditions with a mix of swell and light winds across all three days of competition.

"The Urunga community has welcomed us in with open arms and we're excited to build on the success we've had here on the North Coast in future years," Mr Smith said.

Mr Smith said the Surf Reflections Junior Series was critical in nurturing surfing talent in Australia, giving young surfers a chance to compete at their home breaks and have access to mentoring from former and present pro surfers Callum Robson, Matt Banting, Jarvis Earle, Jacko Baker and Trent Munro.

"Our partnership with Reflections and the support from local councils has ensured the growth of this Series and this weekend it's been fantastic to watch the growth in the level of surfing of the next generation of competitors," Mr Smith said.

Reflections CEO Nick Baker said the Series was supporting the rising careers of young surfers and regional tourism, as well as providing the opportunity for communities to engage in event activities including the Eats and Beats zone.

Each winner will receive a $2500 accommodation voucher from Reflections
