Guildford Man Charged Over String of Assaults, Thefts, Robberies

Detectives have charged a man following an extensive investigation into multiple robberies across Sydney's west.

About 12.50pm yesterday (Thursday 1 February 2024), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command with assistance from specialist officers arrested a 31-year-old man at a home in Guildford.

He was taken to Granville Police Station where he allegedly spat on an officer and injured himself. The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.

The 31-year-old was released from hospital today (Friday 2 February 2024) and subsequently charged with multiple offences including:

  • Common assault
  • Break and enter house steal value less than $60,000
  • Four counts of larceny value less than $2000
  • Larceny
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000
  • Robbery
  • Assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm

Police will allege in court the man was involved in multiple robberies targeting businesses in the Granville and Harris Park areas. Police will further allege in court the 31-year-old assaulted another man at a licensed premises in Granville.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today. He was further refused bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 8 February 2024.
