Greater Shepparton City Council is proud to officially open Stage 1 of GV Link Enterprise Park, marking one of the most significant industrial developments in the region's history and a major milestone in the region's economic growth and development.
Following the first sod being turned in April 2025, major works have been delivered across the subdivision, including significant site clearing and earthworks, construction of internal roads, drainage infrastructure and catchment basins, as well as landscaping.
Stage 1 features an impressive four-lot industrial subdivision across a 55-hectare site, equivalent in size to approximately 28 MCG playing fields, located at 250 Toolamba Road, Mooroopna. Works also included upgrades to the roundabout at the intersection of Toolamba Road and Simson Road, along with the delivery of essential utility connections to Mooroopna, including gas, sewer, water and NBN infrastructure.
Mayor, Cr Shane Sali and Chief Executive Officer Fiona Le Gassick joined contractors and project partners on site today to officially open Stage 1 of GV Link Enterprise Park. Cr Sali said the opening represented a critical milestone in the region's long-term economic development.
"I'm incredibly proud to officially open Stage 1 of GV Link Enterprise Park. The opening marks the next chapter of economic growth for Greater Shepparton, creating opportunity, investment and jobs for generations to come," he said.
"Projects like this don't happen overnight. They take vision, determination, collaboration and a community willing to back its future. GV Link Enterprise Park will cement Greater Shepparton's reputation as a leading manufacturing and freight hub for Victoria and beyond."
The opening of Stage 1 marks an important step in unlocking future industrial development opportunities for Greater Shepparton. With essential infrastructure now in place, GV Link Enterprise Park is well positioned to help address the shortage of large-scale industrial land in the region, supporting business expansion, attracting new investment and generating significant economic activity and employment opportunities across Greater Shepparton and the wider Goulburn Valley.
Cr Paul Wickham, Goulburn River Ward, thanked contractors and everyone involved in delivering the project.
"I would like to acknowledge BMD, Council staff and project partners for their work in delivering this important stage of GV Link Enterprise Park. This investment lays the foundation for future growth, employment and business development that will benefit our region for generations to come," he said.
Chief Executive Officer Fiona Le Gassick acknowledged the many Councillors, Council staff, government partners and community advocates who have helped advance the project.
"This is a legacy project for our region, and so many people have contributed to its progression over many years. To see an idea of this scale become reality is a special moment not only for Council, but for our community more broadly," she said.
GV Link Enterprise Park Stage 1 is funded by $9.6 million from the Australian Government, including $1.17 million from the Local Roads Community Infrastructure Program, along with an additional $14.4 million contributed by Council. Council also acknowledges the Victorian Government's support in bringing this project to life.
"This project will connect the Goulburn Valley Freight Hub straight through to the national network. It connects trucks to the highways and corridors they rely on every day to get produce and goods where they need to go," Senator Jana Stewart said.
"It's fantastic to see this finished. Anyone who's driven through this region knows how much freight moves through here. The fruit, the dairy, the manufactured goods. This upgrade means fewer bottlenecks and delays, and that matters for the farmers, the manufacturers, and the truckies doing the long haul. It's a real win for the whole region."
