On Thursday, hundreds of people attended the launch of Relove It Wagga Wagga, the reuse shop located next to Gregadoo Waste Management Centre (GWMC).
Formerly known as The Tip Shop, but now with a new name, new brand and a new vibe, Relove It Wagga Wagga is a second-hand goods shop with the purpose of giving pre-loved items a second life.
Director Economy, Business & Workforce Fiona Piltz said the new name and new look for the shop is a positive step toward promoting a circular economy in the region.
"The reuse shop at GWMC has been a very popular facility for many years, loved by our local community for its variety of quality second-hand goods available to purchase. With the new name, Relove It Wagga Wagga, and the new look, we hope to attract new demographics," Ms Piltz said.
"Not every Council has a reuse shop at their waste management facility, Wagga Wagga is lucky to have one that sets a benchmark for diverting quality, reusable items away from landfill."

Resource Recovery Facilities Manager Andrea Baldwin said the new look and new name brings a new feel to the shop.
"The goal of Relove It Wagga Wagga is to provide a more modern atmosphere, allowing our staff to engage with our customers, promote reuse and upcycling, and encourage residents to buy second-hand when they can.
"The shop operates through donations of quality second-hand goods, with profits reinvested back into the facility. Donations are accepted free of charge via the Transfer Station at GWMC.
"A reminder that all donations are subject to staff approval and should be in good condition – if it's good enough to give to a friend then it's good enough to donate."
Relove It Wagga Wagga also has new opening hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9am – 3:30pm.
Located at 102 Ashfords Road, Gregadoo, next to Gregadoo Waste Management Centre. Eftpos is available.
