Harmony Day, remembering Cassius Turvey

IMG_0014.JPG

Harmony Day, March 21, is a day of celebration that recognises our diversity and brings us together no matter our background.

We are committed to celebrating diversity as one of the most multicultural local governments in Western Australia, and we want to highlight a very special event the City held on Harmony Day, in remembering Cassius Turvey.

We remember a courageous and inspiring young boy, whose life was tragically cut short, with a day celebrated with his peers and teachers of his high school at Weeip Park, New Junction.

The afternoon was filled with great music, sausage sizzle and a basketball game - one of Cassius favourite sports to play.

We live in vibrant and multicultural country, and Harmony Week (March 20 - March 26) is all about inclusiveness, respect and sense of belonging for everyone.
