Has anybody seen Minister Jaensch?

Minister for Local Government and Planning Roger Jaensch must step in and help the Glamorgan Spring Bay community.

Labor Member for Lyons Jen Butler said the government was showing incredible reluctance to assist the people of Glamorgan Spring Bay.

"While residents of Glamorgan Spring Bay are being slugged with massive rate increases the government is nowhere to be seen," Ms Butler said.

"What does Minister Jaensch have to say about the changes to the rating system in this community?"

Ms Butler said she will be meeting with community leaders next week alongside Shadow Minister for Local Government and Acting Labor Leader Anita Dow.

"My office has received vast communications from members of the community concerned about the steep increases in rates, which are a result of dysfunction over a sustained period of time and the government's reluctance to step in.

"The community of Glamorgan Spring Bay, who are already reeling from the impacts of COVID-19 and the prolonged closure of the road at Paradise Gorge, now have to deal with excessive rate increases.

"Minister Jaensch must consider what can be done to help this community, the sudden increases are unfair and unacceptable."
