Have your say on Riverway upgrades

Townsville City Council wants to know how you use Riverway in order to optimise the proposed Riverway Splash Water Park.

Townsville Acting Mayor Les Walker said Council was keen to hear from anyone who visited Riverway.

"Riverway is an important precinct and Council wants to ensure any future improvements take into consideration community feedback," Cr Walker said.

"It is important that we invest in all areas of the city, and in doing so we aim to get it right.

"Getting it right means creating a vibrant community space that can be used by people of all ages."

Local councillor Verena Coombe said Council had made it easier than ever for locals to voice their opinions on future developments.

"A Splash Park that can be enjoyed by young families is definitely something Council is eager to invest in," Cr Coombe said.

"I have spoken to a number of locals and others who use Riverway regularly who are all keen to see something like this is added to the area.

"We'd like to hear from more people who use the Riverway area, so we can understand what is important to you as key users of the precinct.

"By registering and completing this short survey, you can not only contribute to the future of Riverway, but importantly we can keep you up to date with the outcomes of our public consultation."

Public consultation on the proposed Riverway Splash Water Park runs from Monday 13 January until Friday 21 February.
