Many of the popular Hawkesbury Library Service programs are returning in 2021, with all activities being conducted in accordance with COVID-Safe guidelines.
If you are interested in researching your ancestry and want to know more about local history, the Hawkesbury Family History Group will continue to hold monthly meetings both in person and via Zoom on the second Wednesday of every month at 10am.
Regular programs will also make a come-back from February including Movies@your library, Chess Club and Tech Help.
For preschool aged children, Pre-School Storytime will return to Hawkesbury Central Library, Windsor. Pre-School Storytime will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am during the school term, commencing Tuesday, 2 February. Due to COVID restrictions, Rhymetime and Richmond Branch Storytime will not commence until later in the year.
This year, the monthly Book chat night book club and Third Thursday book club is now joined by a new monthly online 'Time Travellers historical reads' book club that you can join via Zoom. These book clubs are free to join and more information is available on the Hawkesbury Library Service website.
Knit with friends group for knitting and crochet enthusiasts will be meeting on the last Friday of the month.
February will also see the return of the Tech Savvy for Seniors courses that are great for assistance with Smartphones and Tablets.
The Justice of the Peace service will resume from Tuesday, 12 February from 10:30am to 11:30am and then weekly every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at Hawkesbury Central Library. This is a free service and there is no need to book.
While you are at the Library, take the time to see the great displays on offer: Greg Hansell's 'The Crossing' – an art exhibition, dedicated to the crossings of the Hawkesbury River at Windsor; and 550 years of the printed book – a new display of objects highlighting an extraordinary collection of antique books dating back to the very first printed books also known as Incunabula, from book collector, Peter Op't Land.
Hawkesbury Library Service has a COVID-Safe plan in place. Participant numbers will be restricted, and social distancing requirements will be observed. Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities will also be available. If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend.
