Hawthorn Assault Under Investigation by Detectives

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a woman was assaulted by a man whilst walking her dog in Hawthorn late last year.
A 35-year-old Hawthorn woman was walking her dog along the footpath of Riversdale Road about 10.30pm on 20 November 2025.
The woman was approached by an unknown man as she reached the corner of Kooyongkoot Road.
The man demanded money from the woman before he punched her and fled the scene on foot.
The woman sustained minor injuries.
The offender, fleeing empty-handed, was last seen running east on Riversdale Road towards Camberwell.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s, 180cms tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and brown glazed eyes.
The male was wearing a black hoodie, dirty light grey pants and no shoes at the time of the incident.
Detectives have released computer generated image of a man who they think can assist investigators.
